I do not believe that therapy is one-size-fits-all; my therapeutic approach is integrative. I am trained in a range of therapeutic approaches that allow me to adapt therapy to meet your individual needs, goals, and preferences, and give space for flexibility within the therapeutic process.
Different approaches offer alternative perspectives. Some, such as CBT, offer a more structured approach, whilst others, such as psychodynamic therapy, may involve a more in-depth exploration of how past experiences and patterns of thinking might influence your current life. I emphasise the therapeutic relationship that I believe serves as the foundation for growth and healing.
You may choose a short course of therapy to focus on a particular issue over six sessions. Alternatively, you may decide you need a longer period of support for therapy that requires greater depth, depending on your needs and goals. We can discuss this in your first assessment session.
Couples therapy, or relationship counselling, addresses relationship dynamics and focuses on improving communication, navigating issues such as trust, intimacy, and life transitions, and resolving conflict. I provide a safe and reflective space where both partners feel heard and understood.
Therapy for parents focuses on relational issues within the family unit and can help you navigate parenting challenges you may be facing. I can support you, and help you to support your child, who may be experiencing mental health issues. I offer support for parents of children with Autistic Spectrum Condition (ASC) and children with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), with the aim of helping you understand how your child experiences and relates to the world around them.
An integrative practice drawing on six core approaches, tailored to you.
A non-directive approach that promotes self-discovery, a deeper understanding of the self, and self-acceptance. Based on the belief that individuals have an inherent capacity for personal growth, I offer a safe environment in which you can openly explore your feelings, thoughts, and experiences and where you are encouraged to connect with and trust your inner resourcefulness.
An in-depth exploration of past experiences, relationship dynamics, and unresolved conflict. Bringing awareness to how unconscious thoughts and early experiences shape current emotions, behaviours, and relationships helps to heal from past traumas, create shifts in emotional responses, and develop better relationships.
Rooted in philosophy, this approach explores the fundamental questions about human existence: meaning, freedom, isolation, responsibility, choice, death, and identity. I will guide you in a reflective practice, helping you to gain awareness of how you view and relate to yourself, others, and the world.
A structured and practical approach that focuses on identifying and challenging unhelpful thoughts and behaviours. CBT offers tools and techniques to help shift negative thought patterns and learn more helpful ways of thinking and acting.
ACT combines mindfulness with the practice of self-acceptance. It helps you accept difficult thoughts and feelings without judgement, develop psychological flexibility, and clarify personal values so you can commit to actions that enrich your well-being and create a richer, more meaningful life.
Designed to help you manage high levels of shame, self-criticism, and emotional difficulties by developing self-compassion and inner safeness. CFT balances three emotional systems — threat, drive, and soothing — fostering a kinder, more nurturing relationship with yourself through a compassionate inner voice.
Record levels of young people are struggling with their mental health. Academic pressures, social media, bullying, poverty, inequality, and the lack of timely professional support are contributing factors.
